St. Stephen's College
In 1870, the seminarians of St. Stephen's College ranged in age from 15 to 27. The College was under the leadership of Rev. Robert Brinckerhoff Fairbairn, who served as Warden for 35 years, from 1863 to 1898.
According to filings with the New York State Board of Regents from the year 1869, the college was comprised of 64 undergraduates, all young men. In that year, the degree of B.A. was conferred upon 10 students.
