The War in Europe
The Second World War is the largest conflict in the history of mankind. Nazi Germany started the war with the invasion of Poland on the 1st of September 1939. Sixty-one countries were engaged in the Second World War, including the Big Four - the US, the USSR, the UK, and China. The fighting took place on the territories of 40 countries, as well as in the naval theatres of the world's oceans.
