Description
Watercolor drawing on paper of two groups of fungi, executed in shades of beige, pale grey, and white: the larger group on right consists of a tall, pestle-shaped fungus measuring 4 1/4 inches in height; the cap is softly rounded, and the substantial stalk measures 1 inch at widest point and tapers gradually; a small specimen measuring 1/2 inch in height is situated to its left; the second group to the left is also comprised of two specimens; the taller one measures 3 1/2 inches in height, while the other, to its right, measures 1 1/2 inches in height; both pestle-shaped with thick, tapering stalks; strokes of brown indicate earth in both groups; in lower right, in pencil, " Calvatia elata- / young stage."
