Watercolor drawing on paper of three fungi in shades of brown, moss green, and beige, accompanied by pencilled text on right side of page: the center and largest image measures 2 1/2 inches in height and 2 1/2 inches at widest point; the brown spotted umbrella shaped cap is scalloped along the edge; its reddish-brown stem is 1/4 inch thick; the specimen to its right measures 2 1/4 inchis in height and 2 1/8 inches in width; the concave cap is a mottled beige in the center; the outer portion is a speckled moss green; the curved reddish-brown stem is 3/8 inch thick; the specimen at the far left is the smallest, measuring 1 1/8 inches in height and 5/8 inch in width; its domed cap is dark brown; the 1/4 inch wide stem is light brown; each is anchored with several strokes of moss green at the base; a column of text, in pencil, on right side of page is as follows: "1. Pileus convex to expanded, darkish / brown velvety in young stage, becoming paler / reddish tan and aerolate rimose; context / white rather thick, turning slowly blue when / cut or bruised. / 2. Pores pale yellow becoming olivaceous. Stem / sordid brown- adnate, slightly depressed / angular medium, turning first blue then / sordid green when cut. / 3. Spores olivaceous / 4. Stipe firm yellowish with fibrous red / lines, yellowish within turning green / when cut or bruised, brighter yellow at / the apex. / Growing gregarious in lawn / Riverdale July 1921 / 13.
