The entire issue of this alumni/ae newsletter was devoted to the 1951 gift of the Blithewood estate to Bard College. Created at the turn of the twentieth century by Francis L. V. Hoppin (1867–1941), of the architectural firm Hoppin & Koen, for Captain Andrew C. Zabriskie (1853–1916) and his wife, Frances Hunter Zabriskie (d. 1951), Blithewood was donated to Bard College by the Zabriskies’ son, Christian.
